"When I took an unofficial visit up there I just liked the coaching staff, the players that I met and the facilities were top notch." Nick Carols told All Eyes on U Hoops. Nick is an 6'6 wing from Southern Boone, Missouri, who plays his AAU ball for St Louis Gateway. He is a strong shooter and passer who is working on his strength and aggressiveness he said "The way we play in high school is pretty close to the way Coach Davis wants to play." Nick said "Everyone really needs to be able to play anywhere, and it is an up tempo offense."
Carols had a pretty good AAU campaign with St Louis Gateway. "We got to the sweet 16 out in Vegas and won a tournament in Kansas City." Nick said. "We did ok in Indy as well and made it to the second round." Nick also had an offer from Nebraska Omaha and Lindenwood but in the end he picks the Chippewas. "It seemed like the right fit for me, and the place I wanted to be." Carols said. "The college seems to really run the town, it just has that college atmosphere."
With his decision out of the Nick is focused on his senior basketball season at Southern Boone. "We lost some good players, but the guys we have back are dedicated and don't play other sports." Carols said. "So we are in the gym everyday working to get better." Nick is happy to make his choice but did enjoy the recruiting process. "It was great at first having college coaches calling and texting you all the time." Nick said, then he added, "It is great to know where I'm going next year and what I;m going to do, it is a great relief"
With such a young team this year at CMU, Nick should have a pretty good chance to play right away next season. "I think I will have a chance to play as a freshmen." Nick said. "Of course nothing is promised, I have to continue to work hard and improve, but I can see where I would fit in to their team."
